Awaken

by Stephen Tarsitano and Maria Mazzola

Awaken my dear

You don’t have to fear

What brings you to this place

With such sadness on your face

I’m all around you, in those eyes

Stop the tears, and heavy sighs

In every world there is grief

But you got to get back on your feet

When you stop and you pause

You’ll be aware of some cause

Greater than all of this

I’m alright, I’ve found my bliss

Now get up and breathe in deep

You’re stronger than you think

Find your dreams and carry on

Dust off your shoes, and start to run

Will you awaken my dear

And shrug off this fear

Will you will do this one thing for me

Will you pick up your head

Be happy instead

And think of your life to be

Memories swirl  in your head

You say I wish it were me instead

You hide away in the past

Now it’s time to move on at last

Just know that I am okay

I’m happy well on my way

I live on in your heart

So we’ll never be that far apart

Will you awaken my dear

And shrug off this fear

Will you will do this one thing for me

Will you pick up your head

Be happy instead

And think of your life to be

You gotta be, yea you gotta be  happy.
